We’re eagerly anticipating a new arrival to our family. No, not that kind of new arrival! I’m talking about Kate, my brother’s fiancée and my soon-to-be sister-in-law!
In celebration, my mom and I hosted a bridal shower for Kate at SixtyFour Wine Bar in Naperville, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. Kate’s Maid of Honor was sweet enough to fly in for it.
And so was Kate’s mom!
SixtyFour Wine Bar has a private room that’s perfect for parties.
And because Kate loves wine (and we were at a wine bar!) my mom spent hours making Pinterest-worthy decorations with a vineyard theme.
We brought the decorations, but there was one thing we didn’t need to bring: the wine!
SixtyFour Wine Bar serves wines by the glass, but in a very unique way. Rather than having a waiter pour your drink, you select which wines you want to try from the wine dispensers. They’re basically the greatest vending machines, ever!
After lunch (and quite a bit of wine), Kate opened her gifts.
And we all teared up when she opened her “something blue:” earrings from her mom to wear on her wedding day.
Then it was time for the games! Margaret, Sarah and Kate were all winners – I promise we didn’t rig it!
It was a wonderful afternoon spending time together and showering the bride-to-be.
We can’t wait to officially welcome you into the family, Kate!
Although, it already feels like we’re all family…
And oh what a family it is!
