After a long, difficult morning of shopping in Soho (tough life, right?!) we treated ourselves to lunch at Balthazar.
We began with a handful of oysters, letting the waitress choose her favorite kinds. They were perfect, and I’m glad we left it up to her expertise!
Then for our main courses we had the Homemade Sweet Pea Agnolotti with Maine lobster, ricotta, mint and pea shoots. It was absolutely fabulous!
And, predictably, we had the Macaroni au Gratin (the classy way to describe mac and cheese!) with bacon. This dish was good too, but the agnolotti was much better. I’ve now sampled so much mac and cheese I’ve become quite a bit of a mac and cheese snob!
It was a good meal, and a perfect break in the day.
