“Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future. This is known as Fashion Week.” – Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City
Truer words were never spoken. NYFW happens twice a year, but for whatever reason the September shows always feel like a new beginning. Perhaps (to use another well-worn quote!) it’s because life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall?
By now you know the drill. I’ll be breaking down the top three trends from NYFW so you’re ready for next spring/summer. And of course I always end these posts with a little eye candy!
#1 White with Delicate Cutouts
I’m loving this dainty trend, and how crisp and fresh it looks.
#2 Shades of Purple
Purple is the color for next season! And NYFW featured all shades of it, from light lavender to deep purple and everything in between.
Kate Spade New York
#3 Puffy Sleeves
This is the modern version of the shoulder pad! And I loved how designers featured the silhouette in both subtle and fabulously over-the-top ways.
And finally, the best part of my NYFW recaps, the hottest male models on the runway!
See how easy it is to leave the past behind (i.e. your old wardrobe!) and look to the future of fashion?
