I love hosting visitors, especially when those visitors are two of my best friends in the world. Jenny and Amber have always been like sisters to me, and we realized during their visit that we’ve been friends for longer than we haven’t!
They came out for a long weekend to soak up the last days of summer in New York City. And there’s no better place to do that than at Pizza Beach on the Upper East Side, where it’s always summer inside the restaurant no matter the season outside.
See, you immediately feel like you’re on vacation when you step inside!
Amber spotted another table eating the restaurant’s Saved by the Nachos dish, and insisted we order it as a starter. I’m so glad we did; it was delicious! It’s topped with mozzarella queso, pico de gallo, crema, romaine lettuce and guacamole.
Then of course we had to share a few pizzas too!
Upon the waiter’s recommendation we selected the Pineapple & Speck pizza with fresh mozzarella, jalapeños and rosemary.
And we had the Zucchini Pesto pizza with pesto sauce, baby spinach, green zucchini, fresh mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. Of the two pizzas this one was my favorite. I couldn’t get enough of it!
It was a fabulous lunch with two fabulous ladies.

Afterwards we continued the fun by exploring the Central Park Conservatory Garden. I’m embarrassed to say that before Jenny suggested it I had never even heard of it! It’s located on the east side of the park between 104th and 106th Streets, and is the only formal garden in Central Park.
And it’s gorgeous!
I really want to go back in the spring when even more flowers are in bloom!
It was a wonderful start to their visit… and things just got better from there!
Stay tuned for more adventures!
