My mom came out to NYC for a special visit, and it was fun spending time together just the two of us. During much of her trip we indulged in the macarons and champagne I brought back from France (it’s the best champagne we’ve ever had)! So we decided to counter this splurge with a light lunch at Vitae in Midtown.
Our meal began with warm rolls right out of the oven.
Then we shared several starters. We loved the Burrata with broccoli rabe pesto and chili garlic oil, served with grilled crostini.
We also enjoyed the Lamb Lollipops with garam masala, sun-dried tomato and caper gremolata, and black garlic.
And mom liked the Roasted Baby Beets with rainbow-red-golden beets, goat cheese, arugula, Sicilian pistachio and beet reduction. I’m not a big salad fan (give me mac and cheese any day!) but the beets themselves were fresh and delicious.
And even though it was a lighter lunch, we still treated ourselves to one glass of champagne. It was her vacation, after all!
