Vicki, my number one blog fan, also recommend eating at Fiammé in nearby Naperville, Illinois while I was in town. So I got together with a few of my cousins for a ladies’ night.
We started with drinks, as all good ladies’ nights should!
And we ordered the burrata as a starter because Vicki just raves about it! And she’s right – the burrata at Fiammé is wonderful! It’s fresh mozzarella filled with rich Italian cheeses and served with tomato jam, prosciutto and crostini. We liked that the crostini was perfectly toasted and not too crunchy as often happens with bruschetta.
Fiammé has Neapolitan-style pizza, just like I had in Italy!
Kacey ordered the Fiammé pizza with fresh mozzarella, oven roasted tomato, prosciutto, arugula and shaved parmigiano.
And I had the Roasted Garlic White Pizza with roasted garlic, olive oil, fresh spinach, marinated artichokes and goat cheese.
The other two went with pasta, with Kris ordering the Braised Short Rib Ravioli topped with Fiammé’s homemade vodka sauce.
And Michaela selecting the Shrimp Pesto Linguine with fresh shrimp, oven roasted tomato and fresh goat cheese tossed in a basil pesto cream sauce.
The ladies were kind enough to order desserts so I could take pictures of them for the blog. Isn’t that nice?!
We had the New York Cheesecake with a raspberry topping.
Mint Chocolate Chip Gelato.
And German Chocolate Cake filled with a coconut pecan frosting.
We had such a great night and it was so nice catching up with the girls over delicious food.
