For Easter this year Greg and I headed down to Washington, DC to visit his sister Katherine, her husband Dave, and their two daughters, E & W.
I love taking the train between NYC and DC rather than flying. And when it comes to trains between the two cities, the Acela Express is the only way to go. All of the seats are business class or first class, so your journey is much more comfortable than other trains (and definitely more comfortable than flying)! Plus the Acela Express has fewer stops so you get there faster.
When we arrived E was at a birthday party, so W took us on an adventure at the local park.
While we only found a few trees with beautiful blooms…
We did find some bamboo!
The next day the six of us ventured to Mount Vernon.
There we explored the inside of George Washington’s former home.
As well as the grounds of his estate.
Mount Vernon is right on the Potomac River, so George had some pretty spectacular views from his back porch!
The next morning the girls couldn’t wait to start their Easter egg hunt.
And it was so much fun watching their enthusiasm as they hunted.
Success!
It was a wonderful weekend with family, and a very happy Easter.
Hope yours was just as wonderful!
