Happy Thanksgiving!
This year I have so many people and things to be thankful for, and you are one of them! I’m grateful for all of the support you’ve given Wanderlust in the City over the past 4 1/2 years. This website has opened so many doors for me, and your readership has made that possible. So a huge thank you to YOU!
This year Greg and I headed up to Connecticut, which is my favorite Thanksgiving tradition. We started the trip off with a cousins’ night at South Lane Bistro, a cute restaurant in Guilford that I highly recommend. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is cozy: we were seated by the fireplace on their enclosed outdoor patio, and every chair had a blanket draped on it.
The next day, on Thanksgiving morning, we woke up late, watched the Macy’s Parade on TV, and then enjoyed the beautiful weather at the beach.
Then we enjoyed one of the best Thanksgiving dinners I’ve ever had! All of the food came together perfectly and everyone had a great time, with a few fun surprises throughout the course of the evening.
Can you believe this is less than half of my dad’s side of the family?!
Later that weekend, before we headed back to New York City, we made sure to stop at my favorite restaurant in Connecticut, Ford’s Lobster, for their world-famous lobster bombs. This dish is incredible, and has lobster bisque in a bread bowl topped with an entire lobster! You can see the mouth-watering pictures, and read all about it, here!
We had to laugh at how many people in my family were dressed in plaid. No, they didn’t plan it!
It was definitely one of my favorite Thanksgivings in years.
Here’s hoping your holiday was just as wonderful!
