My friend Nicole (from LA!) recently moved to New York City, so I’ve been teaching her how to be a New Yorker. Last weekend was an important step in that journey: her first bottomless brunch!
We headed to Union Bar & Kitchen in Soho for an hour and 45 minutes of food and unlimited drinks.
The whole brunch squad was there.
Plus Adam, who went to high school with Kendall and me!
Once we sat down the clock started, and we began with pitchers of bellinis, mimosas and bloody marys.
But Olivia and Vickie had straight champagne because they’re “allergic” to orange juice!
I’m not the biggest drinker, but I decided my spirit animal would make an appearance. Lauren was on board with this, and every time I looked up she had my glass in her hand, refilling it over and over again. Such a good/dangerous friend!
With the bellinis flowing we focused more on that than on our food, but the food was good too. We had:
UBK Chicken & Waffles
Avocado Toast with smoked salmon, mango salsa and ghost pepper créma on multi-grain country bread.
The Breakfast Burrito with scrambled eggs, jalapeño, chorizo, tomato, onion, cheddar cheese, guacamole and chipotle créma.
Steak ‘n’ Eggs
The Baked Portobello Caps stuffed with spinach, onion and chévre and topped with fried eggs.
The Smoked Salmon Platter with herbed goat cheese, soft poached eggs, tomatoes, onions, capers and whole wheat toast.
The Kitchen Sink Omelette
The Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and chipotle hollandaise.
And the Eggs Benedict with prosciutto and broccoli rabe topped with a mustard tarragon sauce.
An hour and 45 minutes later, I’d say it was a pretty successful bottomless brunch!
And it became even more successful when we continued wandering around Soho… and continued drinking. Hello spirit animal!
