Lately I feel like I’m always at brunch… and I’m not mad about it!
Most recently the girls and I headed to Union Fare, in Union Square, solely based on the fabulous photos we saw on Instagram.
The decor is super cute (and, luckily, blog worthy)!
We started with several “Smashes,” Union Fare’s Instagram-worthy take on bruschetta.
I highly recommend the Burrata Smash, which also has tomatoes, olive oil, and balsamic.
The Avocado Smash is delicious too, and has cherry tomatoes and prairie breeze cheddar.
I also loved the Berries Smash, which has an assortment of berries as well as house-made ricotta and local honey.
Union Fare is also known for its unique pastries, so we ordered the Pastry Basket for the table. It has banana bread, a Fruity Pebbles(!) croissant, a cinnamon roll, an Apple Jacks pop tart, and a cinnamon bomboloni with pastry cream.
How adorable is this Fruity Pebbles croissant?!
The rest of the pastries were delicious too.
Our meal was off to a good start and we hadn’t even gotten our main courses yet!
Sarah ordered the Eggs Any Style, and we were immediately jealous when they arrived with tater tots!
Claire got, and loved, the Brunch Bowl, a dish filled with whole grains, beans, chicken, guacamole, salsa, crema and a fried egg.
Lauren selected the Harvest Salad with chicken, winter greens, butternut squash, brussel sprouts, pecans and a cranberry vinaigrette. She said it was really good, but like… it’s a salad.
Jess, Steph and I got the opposite of a salad.
We ordered the most fabulous dish on the menu, the Breakfast Mac and Cheese! It has mac and cheese topped with bacon, sausage, egg and smoked cheese. You know how much I love mac and cheese, so I heard angels singing with every bite I took.
The food at Union Fare is SO good! It’s my new favorite brunch spot.
Union Fare gets busy on the weekends, so you should definitely make a reservation. You can do so here.
Is it brunchtime yet?
