You know how whenever you look back on a vacation, there’s a moment you remember as perfectly capturing the essence of the trip?
This blog post is about that moment.
As I announced earlier, I went home to Chicago over Easter weekend and had a wonderful few days spending time with my family. Each day was amazing, and was filled with all of my favorite people, food and activities.
On Easter morning, after church and our traditional Easter brunch, my family and I wandered through the city, enjoying the warmer weather and gorgeous buildings.
We ended up at LondonHouse Chicago, a newly-renovated building that just opened as a hotel less than a year ago.
The inside is glamorous and classy, and I definitely plan on staying overnight in the future!
But what brought us here on Easter wasn’t the hotel itself, but the hotel’s rooftop bar. The bar too is glamorous and classy.
But this is its biggest draw:
Can you believe how stunning the views are from here?!
Depending on where you stand on the rooftop, you can even see where the Chicago River feeds into Lake Michigan.
It even has this massive dome which instantly made me feel like I was on a Mediterranean vacation.
Apparently sitting on top of the dome is the place to hang out…
…so my cousin Erin helped me up, laughingly taking off and putting on my heels for me, just like Cinderella!
Then it was time for what my family does best (we are Irish, after all)!
We found a table big enough for all of us and laughed the afternoon away.
Spending time with my family and enjoying the gorgeous spring weather, all while overlooking Chicago’s stunning architecture, created an absolutely perfect moment I will always remember.
I’m now LondonHouse’s biggest fan! I immediately texted my friends when I left recommending they check it out. It’s interesting (there’s a Greek dome!), has stunning views (as you’ve seen) and the best part is it wasn’t even that crowded! So it offers an amazingly relaxed vibe rather than most busy rooftops that are packed with people.
You can find out more information on LondonHouse here. You can read about its rooftop here.
Here’s to perfect moments, and to family that makes every moment perfect.
