Caliente Cab Co. is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the West Village. It’s one of the few NYC restaurants I’ve eaten at multiple times (usually I’m all about trying new places) and every time I’ve gone there my cousins Blair and Marisa have been with me. In fact, the first time we ate there was right after we didn’t escape the room!
During this most recent cousin dinner, we let Blair pick the restaurant since he was still scarred from his stressful experience at The Modern! We were glad when he chose Caliente Cab Co. and we took advantage of the (finally!) warmer weather to eat outside.
Caliente Cab Co. is known for its margaritas so we had to order a few.
We also shared guacamole because it’s pretty much mandatory at Mexican restaurants!
Blair and Marisa both ordered the Chicken Chile Chimichanga which is chicken breast in a crispy flour tortilla filled with Spanish onions, refried beans, enchilada salsa and monterey jack cheese.
I’ve ordered tacos in the past and loved them, same with the enchiladas, but this time I decided to try something new.
I selected the Taco Salad which has mesclun lettuce with grilled chicken, avocado salsa, crema, pico de gallo, monterey jack cheese, and black and pinto beans all served in a crunchy taco bowl with a sour vinaigrette dressing. It too was delicious!
You truly can’t go wrong with anything you order at Caliente Cab Co.
It was another successful cousin dinner!
