Another fashion week has come and gone, and with designers featuring their Fall/Winter 2017 collections it feels a bit like summer has already come and gone as well (wow, this post got off to a depressing start)!
As usual, I’m publishing my fashion week roundup so that you know what will be the three biggest trends when the weather turns colder again. As always I’m also featuring my favorite Marchesa dresses, and per tradition this post will end with a fun surprise.
But first, the fashion! Here are the top three trends from NYFW Fall/Winter 2017:
#1 Winter White
While white is generally reserved for warmer weather, the winter version of the color will remain strong long after Labor Day. These are just some of the designers who featured winter white in their collections:
Oscar de la Renta
Were designers inspired by Prince Harry’s girlfriend, perhaps? A significant number of NYFW designers featured unique takes on the typical suit, some going more classic and others adding some edge. These are the ones that particularly stood out:
#3 Lingerie-Inspired Lace
This fall and winter just got a whole lot sexier! Many designers were inspired by lingerie, and used black lace in their looks to give the day-to-night concept a whole new meaning. My favorites were:
Alice + Olivia
Zimmermann (which also featured the winter white trend)
Naeem Khan (which also featured the suit trend… at the same time)
Because Marchesa is my favorite designer (I totally fangirl-ed when I wore my first Marchesa dress) I always like to feature their gorgeous designs in my roundup. Here they are, my favorite looks from Marchesa’s Fall/Winter 2017 collection:
And finally, as always, I end my NYFW roundup with a little eye candy:
So start shopping (and perhaps grab one of these male models to join you)!
