You know when you make drunk plans and everyone is so excited about them but then the next day you wake up and realize that they’re not actually going to happen?
Well during the Military Ball my girlfriends and I decided that we would start doing a monthly ladies’ brunch. That night we created a group chat and planned the first date and location, and then the next day woke up and realized that the date and location didn’t work… for anyone. I figured that it was another instance of drunk plans and that we would never actually end up going to brunch.
Well, I was wrong. Several months later we did end up making it work and headed through the snow to Santina, an Italian restaurant under the High Line in the Meatpacking District.
Inside the restaurant is very tropical and compared to the snow outside it felt like being in a warm greenhouse.
Plus Santina has the coolest chandeliers.
And the tableware is really cute too.
Since the holidays had just finished we had a lot to catch up on and it was so much fun talking and laughing with my favorite people.
Then it was time to focus on what matters most: the food!
I recommend the following dishes:
The Almond Pancakes which are made with whole wheat and served with berries.
The Pannetone French Toast which has an orange flavor and comes with bananas.
The Santina Sandwich which is topped with fontina cheese, bacon and green chili.
The Cecina Tuscan Chickpea Pancakes topped with Avocado Trapanese, which has tomatoes and almond pesto.
And the Broccoli & Pecorino rice served with cipollini onion and chili and topped with two eggs.
Santina is the perfect escape to give you serious summer vibes during these cold, grey days. To find out more information, and make a reservation, click here.
Here’s to more ladies’ brunches (and more drunk plans)!
