Over Thanksgiving I was back in Connecticut, this time surrounded by family and food. While we ate at home most days, one day we ventured to the water for one of the most fabulous seafood lunches I’ve ever had.
We ate at Ford’s Lobster, a small seafood restaurant in Noank, Connecticut.
Here we are! Can you believe this is only about one tenth of my family?!
Some people started with the New England Clam Chowder.
But I saved my soup for something better.
I now introduce you to the greatest seafood dish ever invented, the Lobster Bomb:
The Lobster Bomb is absolutely epic.
Ford’s Lobster begins with a hollowed out bread bowl that’s buttered and toasted. They fill it up halfway with lobster bisque soup and then add an entire lobster! Then they top everything with even more lobster bisque! Oh my gosh is it amazing!
You have to order the Lobster Bomb when you’re there, no exceptions!
But if you can convince someone else at your table to order the Lobster & Avocado Grilled Cheese that’s the best strategy, because then you can sneak a few bites of this delicious sandwich of fresh lobster, avocado and cheese melted between slices of grilled Texas toast.
It is also wonderful.
If for some reason you don’t like lobster (sad, really) then I also recommend the Cajun Peel & Eat Shrimp.
And the Crab Cake Sandwich.
But seriously. Get the Lobster Bomb.
The sun was shining and the air was crisp but warm, so it was a perfect day for seafood by the shore.
Although any day with family is a perfect day.
