On Halloween (yes, on a Monday night… whose idea was this?!) my friends and I headed to Cantina Rooftop in Hell’s Kitchen to celebrate.
The theme of the party was James Bond, which made costumes difficult. At first, it seemed like our Bond girl choices were either a cocktail dress (which we wear all the time) or a bikini (which… no).
Then I came up with a fun idea instead. I would be Jill (I had to google her name), the girl in Goldfinger who was killed by being covered in gold.
Nailed it! And I got so many compliments!
Ann went as a Bond girl (she was very proud of her orange squirt gun!) and the other girls were inspired by the Dia de los Muertos parade in the opening scene of Spectre.
Ann was wearing a dark wig with bangs, so we joked that she was dressed as me for Halloween.
Our costumes were perfectly James Bond themed. The only problem? The party wasn’t!
Everyone there pretty much wore whatever costume they wanted, and it wasn’t the classy 007 affair that we had anticipated. There weren’t nearly enough men in tuxedos!
But we still made the most of it!
Thank you Party City for providing my gold body suit (never thought I’d own one of those…) and my gold accessories! You can find ideas for your next costume party (James Bond themed or otherwise) here.
Happy Halloween!
