In honor of the Olympics (and summer… and lobster…) one Friday after work my friends and I boarded the North River Lobster Company boat for a celebratory party.
The North River Lobster Company is the only floating lobster shack in NYC. Every hour and a half, it leaves from Midtown’s Pier 81 to sail along the Hudson. You’re treated to gorgeous views while sipping summer cocktails and eating lobster and other fresh seafood.
And the best part is that there’s no fee to do this! Instead, you just order whatever food and drinks you want as you normally would at a restaurant.
The Olympics’ opening ceremony was that evening, so of course our party had a USA theme. Olivia and I made up our own competitions, graciously serving as the judges while everyone else competed. The events? Best pickup line, best toast, and best impression of someone on Quadrille.
Congrats to gold medal winner Chris, silver medalist Briana, and bronze medalist Brian! You’ve made your country proud!
As the party went on the drinks kept flowing.
And every time we docked more and more of our friends boarded the boat. At one point it felt like everyone that I knew in the city was there!
As the sun went down the chill party became a little more party party.
And red, white and blue lights lit up the boat. See, everyone loves the Olympics!
It was SO much fun, and one of my favorite nights of the summer!

Clearly our opening ceremony party is the reason Team USA did so well at the Olympics!
