By far the most beautiful black tie ball in New York City is the American Scandinavian Society’s Annual Christmas Ball. It’s held at the Metropolitan Club, which is always gorgeously decorated with Christmas trees, twinkly lights, and fragrant evergreen wreaths.

This year I went with a group of Quadrille friends, all dressed in their best.

I was glad we were taking so many pictures, because that evening I was having a major life moment: I was wearing my first Marchesa dress!
I loved it!
And I loved my hair too (thank you drybar!)
While we waited for the dancing to begin, we wandered around the Clubhouse, sipping champagne and enjoying the decor.

We did take a break from dancing to sample the dessert bar. This event always has the best pecan pie!
I brought the group up to the library, my favorite room at the Clubhouse. I had to take a photo just like last year‘s epic shot!

My friend Chris wanted one too. Think he was making fun of me?!

Christmas in New York doesn’t begin until the Saint Lucia singers float down the stairs, carrying (and wearing!) candles.
Their carols are beautiful, and fill the room with gorgeous Christmas melodies.
