Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and were able to celebrate with people you love.
My parents, grandmas and I headed out to Seattle to visit my brother. Washington is absolutely gorgeous, with clear blue water, dense forests, and towering mountains. We wanted to get the best possible views, so we boarded a ferry and ventured off to Friday Harbor… on a Friday! It was crazy!
Despite the cold, we spent most (ok, some) of the ride outside on the deck. We didn’t want to miss any of the scenery!
It was worth it. The ferry weaved among the islands, and everywhere we turned looked like it could be a postcard.
Wondering who was steering the ferry? Me of course!
What, like it’s hard?!
Thanks to me, we safely arrived at Friday Harbor, located on Washington’s San Jaun Island.
We ate a seafood lunch by the water, then jumped in the car for a little road trip around the island.
Turns out, San Juan Island has some unique features…
And some beautiful features…
By far our favorite location that we happened upon was the San Juan Island Distillery gin tasting and the Westcott Bay Cider tasting.
We started with the cider. I’m used to British cider, which reminds me of beer. This cider, on the other hand, was much more like wine. I wasn’t mad about it!
Then we moved on to the gin tasting.
After trying several gins I discovered something very important. I don’t like gin!
My mom and grandma agreed with me.
But apparently someone in our family is a big fan!
After finishing our tour of the island, it was time to head back onto the ferry and go home.
Luckily the views on the way back were just as picturesque.

Happy Thanksgiving!
