Because last year’s party was so much fun, my friends and I again headed to the SSMAC: Soldiers’, Sailors’, Marines’, Coast Guard and Airmen’s Club’s annual Halloween party. This year’s theme was Dia de los Muertos, and SSMAC went all out decorating the club.
My favorite part about these Halloween parties is that there is a step and repeat (aka backdrop) where everyone can model their costumes. We may have gone a little overboard with the pictures!
Besides the fun photo shoot opportunities, I also like how the SSMAC Halloween party supports the club’s mission: to promote the general welfare of the men and women of the Armed Forces of the United States. The club is funded exclusively through private donations from patriotic individuals and organizations, and the Halloween party’s funds contribute to that effort. So attending is clearly the patriotic thing to do!
Because the theme was Dia de los Muertos, there was an open bar serving anything that you wanted to drink, including margaritas. Even more excitingly, there was also an unlimited taco bar!
And a piñata, just for fun!
But the highlight of the night was the costume contest. We modeled our outfits, runway style, with the clear winners being obvious.
The transition trio won, with Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner taking home the top prize! Cue a celebration to “We Are the Champions” on a scale never seen before at a SSMAC Halloween party!
