It’s beautiful watching New York change with the seasons. The year starts off with snow, transitions into flowers and sunshine, and ends with crisp air and gorgeous trees.
Park Avenue, a restaurant in NoMad, also transforms each season. It is now Park Avenue Summer, and will soon become Park Avenue Autumn, followed by Park Avenue Winter and Park Avenue Spring.
And it’s not just the name that changes. Everything including the decor, menu ingredients and staff uniforms are transformed every season.
The current vibe is bright and outdoorsy, a perfect reflection of summer!
The summer menu is fabulous too, beginning with the warm, fresh cornbread that’s placed on your table the second you sit down.
I highly recommend ordering the Crab & Avocado Roll with raspberry hot sauce and jalapeño crisps. It’s gorgeous, and has all of the wonderful flavors of summer.
I also like the Corn Gnocchi with summer truffles and parmesan. The gnocchi comes buried under this edible foam. Very different, and very cool.
When he served me, the waiter asked if I wanted truffle shavings on top. Is that a serious question?!
Finally, the Lobster Salad with farro verde, cucumber and pickled plums is fresh, delicious and healthy. The plums and lobster are a great summertime combination!
I just love how Park Avenue Summer employs the best seasonal ingredients in really innovative ways. I can’t wait to see what they do for autumn (and winter and spring!).
