While Matt was visiting New York, I knew I had to take him somewhere amazing to eat. What better way to show someone the city, right?!
I had heard that Old Homestead Steakhouse has the best burgers in Manhattan, so we headed over there to see if they lived up to the hype.
Cheers to having a visitor from England!
Old Homestead is located in the city’s Meatpacking District. We sat near the window, which meant that we could people watch while enjoying our dinner.
Because Matt feels the same way about Truffle Mac and Cheese that I do (perhaps this is why we’re friends?), we had to order a side of it to share!
People always ask me what my favorite kind of food is. It’s a no brainer: truffle mac and cheese!
And then it was time to find out whether or not these would be the best burgers in New York!
I ordered the 16oz Prime Steakhouse Burger.
It was very good, and of course I loved the amount of cheese. However, when you’re told it’s going to be the best burger in New York, it’s really hard to live up to that!
Matt, however, said that his order did deserve the “best burger” distinction.
He chose the 16oz Filet Mignon Burger with Buttermilk Onion Rings. I should have ordered that one!
It even looks like the best burger in New York!
So there you have it. Old Homestead Steakhouse’s Filet Mignon Burger is the best in New York! At least, it is according to Matt. I, on the other hand, will need to try many, many more burgers before I can make a decision as important as that!

And be sure and let me know where your favorite NYC burger is! Who knows, maybe I’ll be heading there next!
