Sandals Ochi Beach Resort celebrated its grand opening a few weeks ago with a weekend filled with events and parties. Not wanting to miss out on the fun, my friend Ann and I hopped on a plane and headed down to Ocho Rios, Jamaica to join in.
There’s nothing more beautiful than flying over the Caribbean!
Sandals Ochi is Jamaica’s newest resort, and also Sandals’ largest. It has over 100 acres of beaches, tropical gardens, and swimming pools (105 pools to be exact!). I had never been to a Sandals Resort before, and immediately fell in love.
Plus, there are over 16 restaurants and 11 bars, and because it’s an all-inclusive resort, you never have to take out your wallet. Ever. I’m pretty sure this is what heaven is like!
The pool areas are just beautiful, and almost all of them incorporate a swim-up bar!
The beaches are pretty too, and I spent most of the weekend lying in those orange floaty circles (technical term).
In fact, the entire resort is absolutely gorgeous, day or night.
There are many different accommodation options at Sandals Ochi. For example, you can stay in a luxury room in one of the main buildings, and have a more classic hotel experience.
Or you can rent a more tranquil private villa. Ann and I went this route, and stayed in the All-Butler Village.
When we arrived, our bags were loaded into a golf cart and we were driven to our rooms. Just FYI, it is very difficult balancing a drink in a speeding golf cart! Oh the challenges of vacationing…
The path to our villa was gorgeous!
The All-Butler Village is composed of suites serviced by butlers trained to anticipate guests’ every need. You heard that right, your suite comes with a butler! Yes, it IS just as amazing as it sounds! You’re even given a cell phone to call your butler whenever you need anything, wherever you are on the resort. Hello Jeeves!
Our suite was beautiful, open and airy.
The two best things about it? First, there was a fully-stocked, complimentary bar!
Second, each butler villa comes with a private pool! I could get used to this!
One thing that I love about the resort is the many different alcoves that it has for sitting and relaxing.
This tropical bed was my favorite.
And Ann loved the swings!
During a tour of the resort we were given a sneak peek into the honeymoon suites. Look at how cute the private pools are!
The suites come with their own butler, of course. Who else but Jeeves could decorate like this?!
I loved the celebratory events that the resort planned, like this festive cocktail party the first night.
We were half amazed and half terrified watching the aerial silks performers. You don’t see this at cocktail parties in New York!
The party continued with dinner and a steel drum performance by our new favorite band!
And the best costumes on the island!
