I made Pickle Buttons the other day, which are pretty much the easiest appetizer that you can ever make. When we were little, my brother and I loved when our mom made them for parties. We would eagerly await the moment when she would put out the tray, and inevitably about half of them would be gone before the first guest even arrived. They are that good!
You only need three ingredients:
Claussen kosher dill Pickles, whole
Cream cheese
Ham, thinly sliced
First, dry the pickle as much as you can with a paper towel. It will be a lot easier the dryer it is!
Then use a knife to press cream cheese onto the pickle. It’s important that you don’t try to spread the cream cheese, because then it won’t stick as well.
When you’re done, all sides of the pickle should look like this:
Next, wrap a slice of ham around the pickle. Then use a second slice of ham to make sure that all sides are covered.
Now slice the pickle into cute little buttons!
That’s it! You’re done!
Now you can present them however you like!
Just wait until you taste one. Delicious!
Now the trick is not to eat them all right away…
