My cousin Blair and I woke up early on a Sunday morning (10:30am!) and headed to Olio e Piú in the West Village for brunch. Although, I’m pretty sure since there was no alcohol and it was before 1pm it just counts as breakfast!
Olio e Piú is an authentic Italian restaurant that has a unique charm.
I loved the rustic interior. We could have easily been visiting our Italian grandma (if we were, in fact, Italian)!
As you can tell, we beat the morning rush, so it was nice relaxing with a cappuccino and browsing the menu at our leisure.
Blair decided on the Omelette Sostanizioso, which combines eggs with parma ham, arugula and stracchino cheese.
Because the ham arrived on the outside, Blair joked around that he had to do everything (aka mix the omelette) himself!
I ordered the Frittella Banana Split, which is olive oil pancakes served with banana, strawberry, maple syrup and one very special topping…
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That’s vanilla gelato. ON MY PANCAKES!!!
It was a delicious breakfast, and well worth the early wakeup!

Buon appetito… and buon gelato!
