Gracias Madre

This morning my sister and I went to Gracias Madre, a vegan Mexican restaurant in the heart of West Hollywood. I had heard rave reviews about this place, and couldn’t wait to try it!

Gracias Madre

It is a beautifully decorated restaurant.

I got right down to business and ordered La Quinceañera, a snowcone cocktail with tequila blanco, muddled kiwi, mint, lemon, agave nectar, lime bitters, and hielo raspado. It is delicious and the cutest drink I’ve ever seen!

For our appetizer, we shared the Quesadillas de Calabaza, with butternut squash, caramelized onions, cashew nacho cheese, pumpkin seed salsa, and housemade tortillas. It is phenomenal.

For her main dish, my sister ordered the Flautas de Camote, which are rolled tacos with sweet potatoes, caramelized onions, pico de gallo, guacamole, cashew nacho cheese, cilantro, and black beans.

She loved it!

I ordered the Plantains, which are flash-fried plantains with black beans, mango salsa, spinach avocado, and cashew crema. Like the other dishes, it is superb!

I have a feeling Gracias Madre is the type of restaurant where every single dish on the menu is fantastic. The dishes are hearty (even without any meat!) and the flavors are wonderful.
