Happy Halloween! I hope you all had a fun time this weekend!
There’s nothing like riding the Subway on Halloween. Although, because it’s New York, this picture could also have been taken on a random Tuesday in April.
My friends and I headed to the Village for its annual Halloween parade. Ariel was dressed as a zombie bride, I was a 1950s girl (which it turns out Sara also dressed up as too- great blogging minds think alike!), and Kendall was the mad hatter. Recognize the hat?
Jamie was Ariel’s zombie husband (which is fitting, since he’s her real husband).
Chris was Captain America, and Khary brought back his Twister costume. Jessica joined us later, and she was a Jose Cuervo shot!
Now the Village Halloween Parade isn’t a small, neighborhood get together. There are hundreds of giant puppets, over 50 bands, and thousands of dancers, artists and performers.
The best part is that YOU can be in it! Everyone wearing a costume is invited to participate in the parade, which means that over 60,000 people join in every year.
First you gather in the designated area.
Then off you go into the parade!
I can’t believe how many people came to see me in the parade!
There were some amazing costumes! Here are a few of my favorites:
The creepy twins from The Shining:
New York’s Naked Cowboy:
A robot (or something?) that had an actual, working TV as part of his costume:
The parade was amazing… until it started to rain.
We quickly jumped out of the parade, which allowed us to see it from the outside too.
We then headed indoors to continue the celebration!

Hope your Halloween was just as fabulous!
