This past weekend I went to Angel City Brewery & Public House, a brewery in downtown LA’s Arts District. Angel City Brewery was hosting its second annual avocado festival to celebrate one of its most popular summer beers, Avocado Ale. In addition to the avocado beer, the festival promised food, (avocado, of course!) and music. Say no more, I was in!
I had never been to the Arts District before, and I was thrilled when I stumbled across some wonderful street art on our way to the brewery. As you know, I fell in love with street art while I was in London a few months ago!
The Angel City Brewery is located in the historic John A. Roebling Building, and it’s well worth a look around. I loved the atmosphere of the brewery – it’s laid back and so welcoming! There were quite a few people inside, and many had brought their own picnics and were even having birthday parties.
People were even playing games like Jenga and UNO (my favorite!).
There is also a small retail store inside the brewery.
After wandering around the brewery, it was finally time to try the beer! My friend had an IPA, while I had to try the Avocado Ale. I loved it!
After we finished our beers we wandered around the food trucks that were set up outside of the brewery. Sadly I was too full to try any of the food, but it looked absolutely delicious.
In addition to the beer, the brewery runs tours, tons of fun events (Taco & Trivia Tuesdays! Run + Yoga + Beer! Comedy Shows!), and is just a really awesome place to gather with friends. I can’t wait to go back!
