PopUp Dinners are classy, elegant picnics, where everyone wears white and brings delicious, gourmet food to enjoy with family and friends. The dinners appear out of thin air, with thousands of people gathering at a given outdoor location. Tables are set up, and people bring their own table cloths, candles, lights and flowers to decorate. Where before there was just a field, there are now rows and rows of tables, people, lights and white.
I had always wanted to attend one of these dinners, so when Kendall asked if I would like to join her and some friends at the PopUp Dinner in Brooklyn you can imagine how excited I was!
We knew that it would be in Brooklyn, but it wasn’t until the day of the event that we were finally told the exact location: The Peninsula in Prospect Park. So we donned our white, picked up some food, and headed down to the park.
When we arrived, it was even more beautiful than I had imagined.
There was a sea of people in crisp white clothing, setting up the most gorgeous tables.
We were impressed at how well people had decorated! One of my favorite parts of the evening was just walking around and seeing the centerpieces and the extravagant food!
Since this was our first time attending, our table was a little less… fancy.
But our food was excellent! Kendall and I brought lobster and crab rolls from Luke’s Lobster, and it was a very good decision!
The crab roll was delicious, and the bread was perfectly buttered.
Because I love lobster, my favorite of course was the lobster roll. It had big, juicy chunks of fresh lobster, and I was really sad that I only brought one!
As we ate, the sun began to set, turning the sky into a brilliant sea of colors.
Soon it was time to head to the stage to listen to Ben Folds perform on the piano.
Then, before you knew it, the meal and celebration were over, and the people and tables disappeared as quickly as they had appeared…
Leaving you wondering if it was all just a glamorous dream…
