I recently got invited to a food and lifestyle blogger event at La Poubelle, a charming French restaurant in Hollywood. The purpose of the event was to showcase the restaurant’s seasonal food and cocktail menus. My favorite kind of night!
The event was held in a private room next door to the main restaurant. My sister and I entered the room and made a beeline for the bar.
The small room was dimly lit and beautifully decorated, making for a very romantic atmosphere.
I loved these decorations hanging from the ceiling!
Appetizers upon appetizers were served throughout the night. Unfortunately, there were so many people in the room that the food was snatched up way too quickly. We stationed ourselves near the door in order to get our hands on as much food as we could.
The first appetizer we tried was a wild salmon. The fish was so fresh that it melted in your mouth.
Next up was a delicious asparagus served with a touch of aioli.
Refreshing mango slices.
An unbelievable lamb sirloin with sage from their garden.
This large prawn wasn’t too shabby either. Thank god for that wipe, because it was messy!
Throughout the night we also tried seared ahi tuna, oysters with herbs in a white wine sauce, fried chicken with honey and black truffle (my favorite!), and razor clam ceviche. Every single dish was fresh, wonderfully seasoned, and absolutely delicious.
While we were eating, wonderful jazz music played in the background.
It was a wonderful evening and I was so impressed with the food that was served. I will definitely be back to La Poubelle!
