This past weekend Jessie, Tasha, and I took a whirlwind trip to Las Vegas to see Britney Spears in concert. Yes, you read that correctly. I’m not ashamed. My inner tween was very, very excited!
We flew into Vegas early Friday morning and were greeted with a beautiful view of the strip as we landed.
Once we arrived, we checked into our room at the Flamingo Hotel. Even though the Flamingo is one of the older hotels on the strip, we often stay there because it’s reasonably priced and is in a perfect location, right in the middle of the strip. When you’re in Vegas you spend barely any time in your room anyways!
Our room had an amazing view of the High Roller, which is the world’s largest observation wheel. It opened just a few weeks ago at The LINQ, a new outdoor shopping and dining center next to the Flamingo. We booked tickets to go on the High Roller, but when we showed up for our ride, we discovered that they had closed it down for the night due to high winds. So sad.
After dropping off our bags, we walked around the strip and took in the view. It was a beautiful day.
Ah Vegas, I missed you and your strange, strange people…
After a full day of walking and shopping, we had a delicious dinner at Rao’s in Caesars Palace before heading to the concert.
Vegas is quite the beauty at night.
Yay, Britney time!
We took our seats with less than 10 minutes until the show started. The venue inside Planet Hollywood is small and we had a great view of the stage.
Okay, it is a pretty well-known fact that Britney lip sings. She also doesn’t dance like she used to. But anyone who sees this show has to admit that she’s still a fantastic performer. I was really impressed with the set design and light displays during her show. It was beautiful!
Even will.i.am made a (holographic) appearance!
My favorite part of the concert was when she came out on a giant tree. The set was breathtaking.
She looks pretty good, doesn’t she?!
After the concert we stopped by the gift shop to peruse the Britney merchandise. I found my new favorite hat.
That was my failed attempt at giving some ‘tude.
Britney put on a great show and it was so fun to sing along to all of her old hits.
See you again soon, Vegas!
