I made the most amazing burger over the weekend. It’s cheesy, meaty, and messy, basically all the things you want in a good burger. I present to you, the Hamburger with Chorizo and Creamy Feta Sauce:
To make a Hamburger with Chorizo and Creamy Feta Sauce, you’ll need:
1/2 English cucumber, seeded and diced
1 tomato, seeded and diced
1 medium garlic clove, minced
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup finely crumbled feta cheese
1 package chorizo
16 ounces ground beef, divided into approximately five 3-ounce patties
5 toasted hamburger buns
Salt and pepper
In a bowl, combine the tomato, cucumber, garlic, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and feta cheese. Mix together and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cook the chorizo in a frying pan over medium heat.
Next, divide the ground beef into loosely shaped, thin patties. Season with salt and pepper and cook to desired doneness. While these are cooking, sauté the onions and toast the hamburger buns.
Now it’s time to build your burger! I started with the feta sauce on the bottom, followed by a burger patty, chorizo, onions, and then more sauce.
My friend built quite the burger tower! He put chorizo on the bottom, followed by two burger patties, feta sauce, onions, another burger patty, more chorizo, and even more feta sauce.
It was the most beautiful masterpiece I’ve ever seen.
It tasted pretty darn good too! The creamy feta sauce was a perfect balance to the slightly spicy chorizo.
Yum. Yum. Yum.
