One recipe that’s been on my to-do list for quite some time now is baked brie, and last night I finally got around to making it! It turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself.
To make Baked Brie, you’ll need:
1 wedge brie cheese
Handful pecans, chopped
2 tbsp brown sugar
3-4 sheets phyllo dough (depending on the size of your cheese wedge)
1 tbsp water
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place the pecans, craisins, and brown sugar into a bowl and mix together.
Slice the brie cheese in half and place the pecan, sugar, and craisin mixture in the middle of the cheese.
Fold the cheese back to its original shape. I had leftover mixture so I placed some on top of the cheese as well.
Now it’s time to make your egg wash. In a small bowl, crack open the egg and lightly beat it with a fork or small whisk. Add 1 tablespoon of water and lightly beat the egg mixture until the yolk and water are fully mixed together.
Next, wrap the cheese in phyllo dough. Use the egg wash to keep the phyllo dough together. Once your cheese is completely covered, brush a thin layer of egg wash onto the phyllo dough.
Bake for approximately 15 minutes until it is golden brown.
Cut the cheese open and dig in!
Tastes like heaven!
