Yesterday, my cousin and I went to the 2nd Annual Los Angeles Bacon Festival, held at the Peterson Automotive Museum. The Bacon Festival features dozens of restaurants and bakeries, and pays homage to all things bacon. Can you think of a better festival?! Because I can’t!
In addition to offering more bacon dishes than you could ever ask for, the Bacon Festival also has a wide variety of beer vendors. Bacon + beer = a guaranteed good time!
Not one to waste time, we began stuffing our faces as soon as we got there. First up was bacon marmalade, smoked tomato jam, and crispy fried shallots on a homemade English muffin.
Next, we had a simple but delicious bacon crostini.
A great mini bacon burger with pickles and cole slaw.
Bacon lettuce wraps.
A sloppy joe with bacon.
A bacon profiterole with spicy bacon mornay and bacon relish.
A pork taco.
Another burger filled with bacon.
And finally, a bacon corn dog.
When we could barely eat anymore, we figured it was time to switch to dessert.
The bacon rice krispy treat, with applewood smoked bacon, marshmallows, smoked salt, and dark chocolate was so good, it was bacon me crazy!
I also loved the bacon caramel corn!
This bacon bread pudding was fantastic…
…and so were these bacon-filled dates, covered in chocolate.
In addition to food and drinks, these fantastic bacon-themed T-shirts were being sold.
And my personal favorite…
After spending two hours eating and drinking, we wandered back into the museum to explore. I had never been to this museum before and really enjoyed looking at all the old cars!
Two walls in the museum were covered with these really neat old license plates.
Overall, the LA Bacon Festival was a huge success! I was bacon for more.
