For Christmas this year, my brother got me an awesome gift: a blog post! More specifically, he got my family and me a wonderful, classy dinner at Gotham.
Gotham Bar and Grill is located in the village, and serves timeless American cuisine in an equally timeless and sophisticated atmosphere.
Because Gotham of course makes us think of Batman, Josh made sure to wear his special socks to dinner! Yes, that’s a cape!
When we arrived we were stunned at how gorgeous the restaurant is!
But it wasn’t as beautiful as my family :)
We started the dinner with drinks of course.
Then we moved on to appetizers.
Josh selected the Long Island Pekin Duck and Foie Gras Terrine. This is beautifully served with black trumpet mushrooms, pistachios, baby chioggia beets and brioche toast.
Josh also chose the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare. This features Japanese cucumber, shiso leaf and sweet miso, and asian ginger vinaigrette. It is pretty!
For our main courses, both Josh and my mom ordered the Muscovy Duck. This dish contains seared foie gras, seckle pear, quinoa, almonds, and mustard greens topped with a ruby port sauce. They absolutely loved it!
My dad ordered the Rack of Lamb. This dish has swiss chard, roasted cipollini and potato purée, and a rich lamb reduction. He told us that he has had lamb every Christmas and Easter since he was young, and this is the best he’s ever had!
I went with the Maine Lobster (my favorite!) and it looks SO cool! I’ve never seen a lobster dish look quite so interesting! It features braised rainbow swiss chard, fennel and rice beans, and a sauce américaine in a cool spiral!
After an incredible dinner there was one thing left to do: order dessert! While we were deciding, the waitress brought over chocolate, pistachio, and almond cake bites. Yum!
My dad selected a nice Madeira to finish off his meal.
I chose the Spiced Pumpkin Soufflé with mocha panna cotta, pecan crumble, and cranberry yogurt ice cream. It is so light and fluffy- it tastes just like the foam on a pumpkin spice latte!
Josh and my mom chose the Gotham Chocolate Cake. It is served warm with salted almond ice cream, and they said it melted in their mouths.
Gotham is hands down my new favorite New York restaurant. Oh my gosh is it good! The food is truly inspired, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. You will love love LOVE it!
Thank you Joshua!
