This past Sunday night I had a wonderful family dinner at Bandera, a restaurant on Wilshire Boulevard in Brentwood. As we always do, we ordered way too much food and had an absolute feast! The food just kept coming and coming.
We started off with the delicious Tomato & Burrata appetizer with tomatoes, burrata and walnuts.
For our second appetizer we got the Ahi Tuna Poke, which was a combination of tuna, avocado, mango, and macadamia nuts. It was one of my favorite dishes of the night.
Our third and last appetizer was the Iron Skillet Cornbread. It was very good, but not as amazing as the reviews made it out to be.
For his entrée, my Dad ordered the Loup de Mer, or seabass, with spinach and mashed potatoes. He really enjoyed it!
My Mom ordered the Macho Salad, which was filled with roasted chicken, avocado, dates, goat cheese and almonds. She absolutely loved it.
My sister ordered the Wood-Fire Roasted Free-Range Chicken with mashed potatoes, which she really enjoyed as well.
I ordered the Kobe Tri-Tip & Enchilada Platter with cucumber salad. It may sound like a strange combination, but I assure you it’s fantastic!
Now that the main courses were finally over, it was time for the good stuff: dessert! We started with the Banana Cream Pie, with caramel, bananas and chopped chocolate…
…and ended with my favorite, the House-Made Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches with dark chocolate sauce. They are unbelievable.
Sadly, these pictures don’t do the food justice. It was an all-around fantastic meal and a great end to the week!
