While I was completing the long drive from LA to NYC (and by long I mean looooooooong), I stopped in Chicago for a few days to relax with my family. While I was there, two big things happened: I dyed my hair brown, and my dad taught me how to make Queso Fundido. I don’t speak Spanish, but I’m pretty sure that translates to “Fun Queso!” Ha!
(Note: after further research it does not appear to mean “Fun Queso.” Bummer).
You won’t need many ingredients, just the following:
White Wine
Shredded Queso
Chorizo
Butter
Maracas! (I added this one, I like to make recipes my own!)
First, open the wine and start drinking.
Then, butter the bottom and half an inch up the sides of your pan.
Then cover your pan with shredded queso.
Next, break your chorizo into one-inch pieces and cook. You can either fry it or microwave it for 4 minutes (which is simple and equally effective).
When it’s cooked, drain the chorizo.
And break it up into small pieces.
Now put the chorizo onto the queso. It’s up to you how much or how little chorizo you want to add!
Next take one more sip of wine.
Before pouring about 2 tablespoons of wine onto your fun queso.
Now for the cooking! You can microwave it for 2 minutes until it looks like this. Or you can broil it for 4 minutes.
Now grab your chips and dig in!
It is such a simple recipe, and it tastes amazing! Or should I say, it tastes asombroso?!
Buen Provecho!
I’m so Spanish.
