This past Saturday night, Ashley and I (and the rest of Los Angeles apparently) headed to Santa Monica to check out Glow, the city’s all-night, interactive art festival. I expected the entire Santa Monica beach to be glowing. This was probably unrealistic, but the festival was completely different than I expected. To be honest, the art exhibits were small and a little underwhelming.
After about 10 minutes of walking around, we were desperate to get some food and get as far away from the crowds as possible. We went to Umami Burger in Santa Monica, one of my favorite burger places in LA.
We started with fries, covered in truffle cheese and truffle salt.
Carrying on with the truffle theme, we ordered the Truffle Burger, which is a burger with roasted garlic aioli, house truffle cheese and truffle glaze.
Our next burger was The Royale, which is a beef patty topped with braised short rib, roasted garlic aioli and (you guessed it) truffle cheese.
Melty, truffle-cheesy goodness…
My favorite burger of the night was the Manly Burger, which is filled with beer cheddar cheese, bacon lardons, smoked-salt onion strings, house ketchup and mustard spread.
Not so healthy, but oh so delicious!
Nothing like good food to make our Saturday night perfect.
