A few weeks ago my sister sent me a message asking if I’d like to celebrate my birthday by “doing something involving animals and wine.” How can you say no to that?!
Turns out her plan was to go on a safari at Malibu Wines, a beautiful tasting room and vineyard in Malibu.
What’s that you say? Confused why I said “safari?” Oh no, it wasn’t a typo. No mistake there. I introduce to you: the Malibu Wines Safari!
Check out our sweet safari ride. My sister and I got lucky and had the whole tour to ourselves!
The safari gives you a beautiful tour of Saddlerock Ranch, home to 80 acres of vineyards and the Malibu Family Wines winery. Eight varietals grow on the ranch, from sauvignon blanc to grenache.
But enough about the wine… let’s see some animals!
The highlight of the safari was definitely feeding the zebras. Zebras in Malibu, who knew?!
I could have stayed and fed the zebras all day, but wine was calling our name.
Not too shabby of a wine tasting spot, right?
After wine tasting it was time to get back on our truck and continue the tour. The grounds are just breathtaking.
We also got to meet and feed this silly guy.
Such a handsome fella!
These rascals were hungry too…
After feeding the cattle, we made our way back.
What a memorable way to spend a Sunday! Huge thanks to my sister for planning it, and for taking some of these amazing photographs.
