To celebrate my Dad’s birthday my family and I went to Bouchon Bistro, a fabulous and swanky restaurant in Beverly Hills.
As soon as I sat down I knew I wanted one thing- french onion soup. You know it’s going to be good when the cheese is dripping over the bowl!
My Mom ordered the oysters for her appetizer, which she really enjoyed.
For her entrée my sister ordered the Poulet Rôti, which is roasted chicken with spaetzle, mushrooms, peas and chicken jus.
My Dad ordered the fish of the day, a beautiful branzino.
I ordered the Steak Frites for my entrée. Look at that big ol’ hunk of meat!
For dessert we shared the Crème Brûlée.
And of course Dad had a little birthday drink!
The food was fantastic (and always is at Bouchon!). But the best part of the night was the tour of the kitchen after the meal!
It was fascinating watching the chefs at work. The kitchen is absolutely spotless, and the food is prepared on counters covered with white linen napkins to make sure it stays that way.
All the clocks in the kitchen remind the staff to be speedy.
Someone is in the kitchen stirring these pots 24/7!
Ah, the bread and dessert section… my favorite.
This kitchen tour really made a great occasion all the more special. For more information on Bouchon, click here.
