Last week I was invited to attend Eventbrite LA’s Brows and Bubbly event at Benefit Cosmetics. The event was a perfect girls’ night out: we were given the choice of 1 treatment, either eyebrow waxing, eyebrow tinting, or eyelash tinting, and got to peruse the makeup selection while sipping champagne and snacking on cupcakes and popcorn.
What could be a better midweek pick-me-up than that?!
For those of you who haven’t heard of Eventbrite, it is an online ticketing website that allows you to organize events; it’s also an event discovery site where you can find all the events happening in your city. We are huge Eventbrite fans and have attended a few of their events in the past, including Burke Williams Spa Night Out , Spaphile’s Health and Wellness Night Out, and of course the LA Beerfest.
Naturally, I made a beeline for the snacks as soon as I walked inside.
After picking up a glass of bubbly and some treats, it was time to get my eyelashes tinted! I had never gotten my lashes tinted before, let alone even heard of lash tinting, so I was definitely a little nervous.
Eyelash tinting is a process where your eyelashes are stained to make them look darker. The process is quick, easy, and painless.
It worked like this: First, Maria put vaseline under my eyes and covered the area to protect my skin. Next, she applied a blue-black stain onto my eyelashes. It stung a tiny bit but was more tingly than painful. The hardest part about this process was that I had to keep my eyes closed for 10 minutes!
After 10 minutes she rinsed off the stain with saline solution and I was ready to go! I absolutely LOVE the results. It has been over a week now and I haven’t worn mascara since. My eyelashes are super dark and I look like I’m wearing makeup even when I’ve just rolled out of bed. You can’t get much better than that! Maria suggested having them done every four weeks and I will definitely be keeping it up!
Once I finished admiring my newly-tinted lashes it was time to shop for makeup. I even came equipped with a shopping list for friends.
Even the wall decor was entertaining…
With my newly-tinted lashes and just-purchased makeup, I picked up my swag bag and headed out the door.
It was such a great night!
