If there’s one thing I’ve learned over 4 years of friendship, it’s that when Ben texts you asking if you have plans for the night the answer is always “NO!” Because I guarantee that whatever you had planned, Ben has something in mind that’s better. My last “NO!” got Sara and I invited to be Ben’s plus twos at a movie premiere after party. You know, just another typical day in Hollywood!
The party was held in the lobby of one of my happy places, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
Apparently us party-goers were celebrating the premiere of the film Aftershock, which is a horror film that Ben thought was “hilarious.” I’m not sure if the humorous part was intentional or not… Ben does have a strange sense of humor! Even though Sara and I didn’t see the movie, we still made sure to tell Eli Roth that we loved his film when he introduced himself later in the evening. Don’t worry, we left out the part about it being “hilarious!”
When Sara and I walked into the party, the first thing that caught our eye wasn’t the celebrities. Instead, it was the trays and trays of Fatburger cheeseburgers and fries! Since this was a Hollywood party, no one else was touching the food. So we decided to take one for the team and help ourselves, and the burgers were delicious! There were also two open bars (we noticed those immediately after we noticed the burgers!) and cute chips and salsa dips.
After eating and drinking, we decided to do our next favorite thing: take pictures! The Roosevelt Hotel is absolutely gorgeous, so we had plenty of backdrops to choose from (and luckily a bartender willing to be our photographer!).
It was a fun spur-of-the-moment evening, and despite the fact that this was a Weinstein Company film, the party was very laid back and unpretentious.
Definitely our kind of crowd, right Eli? :)
