This past weekend I went to Stagecoach, a three day country music festival held at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California. The lineup was pretty insane: Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, and Toby Keith headlined the event, and were joined by Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker, Florida Georgia Line, Trace Atkins, Rodney Atkins, Jana Kramer and Phil Vassar, to name just a few.
I must admit that before Stagecoach I didn’t really listen to country music. But there was no way I was missing out on a weekend full of music, sun, drinks, and cowboys!
We got to our La Quinta condo late on Thursday and had a fairly low key night (compared to the rest of the weekend, at least!). Friday we got up and went straight to the pool.
We weren’t the only ones with that idea…
Meet the flabongo (flamingo + beer bong)…
It was tough to drag ourselves away from the pool, but in the late afternoon we finally headed to the festival. In jean shorts and cowboy boots, of course!
I couldn’t believe how big the grounds were! And talk about a great place to people watch. The American flag gear and cowboy hats were out in full force.
We roamed around and picked up some food and drinks before heading to the main stage.
I want these boots!
It was beautiful watching the sun set over the polo grounds.
We caught the last 3 performances of the night: Hank Williams Jr., Trace Atkins and Toby Keith!
Day 1: a success!
Stayed tuned for Day 2 and 3.
