Last week, Sara and I took a break from our busy schedule of laying by the pool and eating (just kidding, we do have jobs!) to relax. We attended Spa Night Out at Burke Williams, and had a wonderful evening being pampered.
The event was hosted by EventbriteLA and Spaphile, and they had everything you could possibly ask for in a mid-week break: spa treatments, beauty samples, cocktails, and appetizers all in a festive but still relaxing atmosphere.
Sara and I started the evening with manicures.
She chose a bright Mod Squad by Essie.
I picked Essie’s Absolutely Shore, because it was the perfect shade for Easter weekend.
PhotoBoothless was there with their InstaBoothless photo booth. This meant that whenever we took a photo on Instagram, and used the hashtag #SpaNightOut, the photo booth automatically printed our pictures for us to take home. The guy working the booth was even sweet enough to make sure that we each had copies of all of the pictures that we liked. This one is totally going on my fridge!
After snapping a few Instagram pics, it was time for our spa treatments. Sara got a facial, and her skin came out glowing!
I received my first ever compression massage. This type of massage is often done on athletes by pressing firmly on the muscles to soften the tissues. It hurt a lot, and at one point Chris pulled my arms so hard that I felt a bit like I was being drawn and quartered. But it was all worth it in the end, because when it was over I felt wonderful!
Sara and I also had a professional examine our skin and recommend products to help with any problem areas (assuming, of course, that we have any problem areas!). After examining us both using a special light that reveals below the surface skin damage, Jenny shared her skin wisdom with Sara and me, and answered all of our questions. She even gave us samples to try out at home.
After we felt thoroughly pampered, we picked up our gift bags, which were full of fun spa goodies, gift cards, and snacks. Then we headed off for the only thing that would make the night even better: the Grilled Cheese Truck!
I wish every night was like this!
