The Beverly Hilton Hotel Pool

As soon as I came back to LA after snowy Chicago, I knew exactly where I wanted to go: the pool! Not just any pool, but the fabulous pool at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The hotel is famous for hosting the Golden Globes and is a playground for Hollywood elite…and Sara and me, last Saturday.

I’ll let you in on a little secret: you don’t need to be an overnight guest of the hotel to take advantage of the pool. Which means that even the not-so-rich and famous can spend the day poolside at my favorite hotel in Beverly Hills.

Whenever I go there, I order drinks and food from Circa 55, the hotel’s poolside restaurant. All you have to do is choose what you want and the waiters will bring your selections straight to your lounge chair. Life can be so tough sometimes!

If you do order any food or drinks, Circa 55 will validate your parking so it only costs $7 to valet park at the hotel for up to 4 hours. So you might as well start ordering drinks!

The restaurant has fun items, like corn dogs and grilled cheese, and more sophisticated fare, like a caprese salad and Asian chicken salad.

Sara and I chose to start with the Mediterranean Platter, which featured an assortment of feta cheese, hummus, muhammara, babaganoush, and pita bread for dipping. The hummus was my favorite, and although I love feta cheese I have to say I didn’t particularly care for it that day.

After enjoying this appetizer, we ordered Fish Tacos to share. They had perfectly fried halibut on top of corn tortillas, and covered in Baja style coleslaw, chipotle cream, pico de gallo, and avocado.

Of course, the meal wouldn’t be complete without cocktails! After finding out what the girls next to us were sipping, Sara went with the Bahia, with blended rum, coconut and pineapple juice. I chose the Original Mai Tai, and oh my gosh it was strong!

There’s just something about being by the pool that makes drinks taste better!

After enjoying our food, and really enjoying our drinks, we decided to do a little swimming (and jumping!)

One of my favorite parts about the hotel, as silly as it may sound, is the water bottles! The waiters will bring you adorable Beverly Hilton water the second you sit down, and then will continuously bring water throughout the day. Then when you pick your car up from the valet, they sweetly leave a couple of bottles in your car in case you get thirsty on the ride home. It’s the little touches like this that make the Beverly Hilton a class act.

After a fun day by the pool (and a little bit of a sunburn!) we dried off, gathered our things, and headed back to reality… sigh.

Luckily we have fond poolside memories to get us through the workweek.
