On another wonderful weekend trip to Oxnard, my parents and I discovered a great seafood restaurant called Lure Fish House.
Lure’s menu offers a wide variety of fresh fish and seafood.
First things first, Lure has some great cocktails. Mom and I ordered blueberry strawberry mojitos, while Dad stuck with a much more manly drink, a skinny margarita.
We started the meal with crab cakes, which were served on top of a cilantro corn salad. They were delicious and one of my favorite parts of the meal.
For his entrée, Dad ordered whitefish with sautéed spinach and green beans. It was good, but in my opinion, a little too healthy!
I ordered steamed prince edward mussels, which were served in fire roasted tomato herb sauce. The mussels were so fresh and the sauce was perfect for dipping bread into!
My favorite dish of the night was Mom’s sand dabs, which were served with lemon sauce and capers. For her sides, she ordered the quinoa and chopped salads.
The sand dabs were buttery, melt in your mouth good.
Dad was a little shy, but here’s a picture of Mom and I.
The best part of the night was definitely the beautiful sunset we caught on our way back home.
Lure Fish House has locations in Ventura, Camarillo, and Westlake Village (which just opened last week!). The restaurant gets crowded and they don’t take reservations, so get there early! Or snag a seat at the bar and have a few cocktails while you wait. For more information on Lure Fish House, click here.
