If you’re in the mood for a juicy, messy, filthy good burger, boy do I have the right place for you. Hole in the Wall Burger Joint is just that, a hole in the wall, no frills burger place in Santa Monica. I promise you, it will not disappoint.
When you walk in, take a right and head straight to the order station, which is filled with pads of paper and a can of red sharpies. One important thing to note is that this place is cash only! Luckily, if you didn’t come with cash (who does these days?!), they have an ATM inside.
You customize your burger by checking off ingredients from these pieces of paper:
You’ve got a wide variety of choices between different meats, buns, and other fillings, some of which you have to pay extra for. I highly recommend getting the pretzel bun!
You know a burger joint means business when full-sized paper towels are placed at every table. Believe me, you will need them.
I ordered a beef burger in a pretzel bun (like I said, a must try), filled with cheddar cheese, tomato, apple wood bacon, a fried egg, and chipotle mayo.

My friend ordered a beef burger on a pretzel bun, with pepper jack cheese, red onions, tomato, bacon, avocado, and sautéed mushrooms, with a side of french fries. It didn’t look too bad either.
When you are finished with your burger, I guarantee that your table will look like this:
Hole in the Wall prides itself on its fresh ingredients, and all of the spreads, pickles, ketchup and french fries are made in-house. The homemade ranch is amazing, and their ketchup is also worth a try. Also be sure to check out the weekly specials!
Hole in the Wall Burger is open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, and is located at 2200 Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica. Click here to find out more information.
